BUYERS: YOU AREN'T BUYING THE 2B38 BATTERY: YOU'RE BUYING THE LITTLE BATTERY ON THE LEFT IN THE MAIN PICTURE. BECAUSE OF FLIGHT RESTRICTIONS FOR BATTERIES THIS BATTERY CAN'T BE SHIPPED OVERSEAS. For sale is an alternative battery to the famous WWII German 2B38 2 volt batteries that helped power many of the Wehrmacht tactical radios such as the Torn Eb, etc. The 2B38 lead storage battery provided 2 volts DC 38 ampere hours to the radio to certain circuits and tubes within the radio, and a 90 volt DC dry battery provided the anode current. Since original 2B38 batteries are expensive and would prove problematic to recharge after all these years, then an alternative battery may be a solution. For sale is a 2 volt 10 ampere hours rechargeable Gel lead acid battery. This battery is readily available in Europe, but not so much here in America, and many companies in Europe refuse to sell this battery to collectors in the US. An enterprising seller in Europe has produced a mold of the front portion of the 2B38 battery and part of the side, and then put one of these batteries in a wooden attachment to the mold, with wires attached from the posts on the new battery to the rear of the faux 2B3b battery posts. When inserted into a battery/accessory box you can't tell the difference. Pretty ingenious. Although it is a small battery it weighs over a pound and a half. The 2B38 battery in the first picture is there for contrasting sizes and is not part of the sale. Photos courtesy Toadjumper MilitariaTrack Page Views With
