Description
You are bidding on a FANTASTIC example of a WW2 German Wehrmacht 8-day Duty Clock Leather Case! These were used in Panzer Division Radio Command Vehicles and Communication stations!
The Panzer Division Lehr was an elite German armored division during World War II. It was formed in 1943 onwards from training and demonstration troops (Lehr = "teach") stationed in Germany, to provide additional armored strength for the anticipated Allied invasion of western Europe. On 4 April 1944, the division was officially designated as the 130th Panzer Division, however it is usually referred to as the Lehr Division. It was the only Wehrmacht Panzer division to be fully equipped with tanks and with halftracks to transport its mechanized infantry. On several occasions it fought almost to destruction, in particular during Operation Cobra, and by the end of the war in Europe bore little resemblance to the unit that had originally been activated. They were equipped with the Panzer IV, Panzer V, Panzer VI, Panzer VIB, StuG 3, Pz.Jgr. IV, Sd.Kfz. 251, and Sd.kfz. 234/2.
Made of leather, this case was manufactured in 1940. It is a SUPERB example, and EASILY the best one I have ever seen of its type! There are some slight scratches and marks due to the age, but nothing that detracts. Features a NICE Waffenamt on the side as well as an impressed date of 1940. The AMAZING features is that it still retains the original Unit Marking, indicating a stylized "LK" (Lehr-Kompanie). Ink stamps internally indicate, "No. 1657"; and ".22 Feb,". Near MINT in condition, it would make a FANTASTIC addition to any collection or display!

------------------- ABOUT ME -----------------
Although my passion is the Me109, I do offer many other German Aircraft (Fw190, Me262, etc.), as well as USAF and Japanese items. Occasionally I do offer many non-vintage items such as prints and art relating to the time period. As a private collector myself, I am constantly on the lookout for historical memorabilia, authentic photographs, artwork or anything unique relating to military aircraft.
