    Description

The Binoculars are nicely maker marked with 'rln' indicating production by the company of 'Carl Zeiss’. The binoculars also have the inscription: 'Dienstglas 10x50', with serial numbers: 30047 and 89375. Serial number 30047 has a reticle installed that is viewable via the right eyepiece, whereas 89375 does not.
Both have a small cross “+” symbol indicates the type of lubricant used.
The optics on both binoculars are free of external scratches, but are hazy. There is a small chip internally on one of the prisms on serial number 30047 ( the one with a reticle), the chip does not impede the view. On both, the eyepieces rotate smooth and function correctly.
There is a double 'U' marking on both binoculars, but the meaning of these markings are so far unknown. These grey painted binoculars probably date from the period in late 1944/1945. Overall, I would say both are in very good condition.
These come with two cases. The black one is original to these late war binoculars and is in very good condition. It appears to be stamped “ KS 1944 with an Eagle and code WAa 14”. The brown one is has a faint stamp (Carl Zeiss) Germany. Date of manufacture is unknown. Although, the binoculars do fit in them these are for a larger size.
