Description
These boots have been in storage since 1945. They had belonged to my dad who was a member of the US Army Air Force. They show very little use and were in perfect condition until I tried to put one on -- hence the tear down the back. The leather looks and feels subtle but apparently has a stress limit. Upon a more gentile entry the boot seems completely wearable. They are a large/roomy size 8 1/2 D. Outside the tear, they are original and have been untouched for approx. 75 years. These boots have not seen combat, and if they left home base at Williams Field, Arizona, they did a post-war tour of the Pacific.
Stamped markings inside shoe as best I can tell: "WEYENBERG SHOE MFG. CO., CONT. W19 -- 074 QM3768, 8 1/2 D 33038, BOSTON MAY 15 SPEC, DEPOT 1945 110".
